About Us
The Inner Light was born back in 1993 in Rockhampton, Central Queensland Australia when my partner and I shared a market stall. He sold independent music and fanzines while I had a shoebox of crystals and an order from Community Aid Abroad (now known as Oxfam).
As our range of products and our popularity grew we realized it was time to take a leap of faith and open a store. We knew the time was right when the perfect location appeared to us at Gnomes, our local Vegetarian Restaurant and fabulous oasis in the beef capital of Australia!
After happily and successfully trading at 108 William Street Rockhampton for 5 years it was time to move on. Our little store that seemed so huge when we first opened was now bursting at the seams with treasures and it was obvious that more space was needed. The universe took care of us and an amazing shop in the historic Georges building opened up just when we needed it to. We made the big move… to the next block, and continued our trading at 84 William Street Rockhampton. The Inner Light was now 10 times bigger plus had a mezzanine level to accommodate workshops, psychics and healing practitioners.
In 2005 we purchased The Mystic Connection in The Arcade, East Street, Rockhampton and traded from the 2 stores.
In 2010 it was time for a sea change. We decided to change the way we traded and moved The Inner Light, The Mystic Connection and Zen Arcade online… then moved ourselves to Melbourne Victoria!
